We believe in fresh, simple food made well with the best ingredients.
Our menu is small, and we want to keep it that way. It’s how we make sure that what we do is done well. We use only the best local ingredients.
Our Tjips are made with locally sourced potatoes, hand cut at the shop with the skin on. We don’t use whiteners or other additives like MSG or flavourants, only salt.
Afro’s sauces are made in small batches with local ingredients that contain only natural ingredients. There are no colourants, preservatives, emulsifiers or additives. This is why you’ll find slight variations in the colour of our sauces when the seasons change.
South Africa is our home and we’re really proud of that. That's why we use local ingredients in our food and local artisans for our shops.
If you look around any of our shops you’ll find great work by local artists and artisans. Everything from our Light shades to our chairs, our clothes display units to our storage units. All of them are made by proudly local South Africans.
The tunes playing at any of our shops are by local artists, no imports here.
We use proudly local, iconic South African brands such as Cerebos™ Salt, All Gold™ Tomato Sauce and Champion™ Toffees.
We’ve partnered with Local designer Amanda Laird Cherry on a Proudly South African line of T-Shirts.
We love this land & want to celebrate it wherever we can. We want future generations to also be able to enjoy this amazing country but we know that it starts with us.
Last year we committed ourselves to helping reduce our environmental impact on the oceans. Our goal is to remove all single use plastic from our shop. In June 2017 we ditched plastic straws, today we are proud to say that we have switched all our water from plastic bottles to glass! We've also recently switched out plastic forks to biodegradable ones made from cornstarch. We’re not 100% there yet but we’re staying committed to our goals and will be looking at alternatives to all single use plastics in our shops.
Our takeaway boxes and packets are 100% recyclable and we provide bins to make it easy for our customers to help us recycle. All our shops have dedicated recycling bins for sorting. Cans, plastic & paper are collected and then sent for recycling.
Be Kiff. Recycle.
